Install & Service
- Install, change out, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.
- Work on air conditioning systems, heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, and related equipment.
- Perform component repairs and replacements.
Position Overview
John Calhoun Electric is an established electrical and HVAC company serving residential, multifamily, and light commercial customers throughout the Roanoke Valley. Because JCE works across both trades, our team encounters a varied mix of projects throughout the year. As the company grows and prepares for larger commercial and industrial work, we are hiring HVAC Technicians to join the team.
What You'll Do
Diagnose & Communicate
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics.
- Identify and resolve HVAC system malfunctions.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers about HVAC needs.
Work as a Team
- Work with teammates on larger projects and complex installations.
- Complete assigned work safely and professionally.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Approach
- One or more years of hands-on HVAC experience preferred.
- Understanding of HVAC/R system design, installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Ability to work independently when appropriate and work well as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
Certifications & Added Skills
- EPA 608 Certification preferred but not required.
- Relevant HVAC licenses or certifications are a plus.
- Sheet metal experience is a plus.
- Welding experience is a plus.
Entry-Level Consideration
Strong entry-level candidates and students who are eager to learn may also be considered for this HVAC Technician position. This consideration is specific to this opening and does not apply to every JCE position.
Pay & Benefits
$20.00–$40.00per hour
